How scoring works
Your confidence rating is your stake. Get a game right and you earn that many points. Get it wrong and you lose that many. Here's a sample week:
Note that 4-2 only netted +4. A wrong 5 costs as much as a right one earns, so rating everything a 5 is how people end up underwater with a winning record. Knowing when to actually spend a 5 is the whole game.
Rules
No entry fee, no purchase, nothing to buy. Submit the weekly poll and you're on the board.
Pick a side against the spread on all six, then set your confidence. Ratings are independent — you can use the same number more than once.
Correct on a 4 is +4. Wrong on a 3 is −3. Best possible week is +30, worst is −30.
If the final score lands exactly on the spread, that game scores nothing either way.
No penalty for sitting out, but you can't make up ground you didn't play for. Unlike the survivor pool, missing a week doesn't knock you out.
Change your mind before the deadline and just submit again. Entries are tracked by email address, and only the most recent one per address counts for that week. Use the same email every week or your history won't line up.
Whenever Sunday's first game starts, the week is closed. That's usually 1:00 PM ET, but on London weeks it's 9:30 AM ET.
Most points across the full season takes it. If two or more finish level, they split it. This page shows the top 10 only, but everyone who submits is scored and in contention.
Standings are updated after the last game of each week.
Official rules
Sponsor. The Bet the Swarm Leaderboard is sponsored by Bet the Swarm LLC. Bet the Swarm LLC administers the contest, determines all results, and awards the prize.
No purchase necessary. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win, and a purchase will not improve your chances of winning. Entry is not conditioned on opening, funding, or using an account with any third party, including any advertiser or affiliate partner appearing on this site.
Eligibility. Open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Bet the Swarm LLC and members of their immediate households are not eligible. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
How to enter. Submit weekly selections through the poll at bettheswarm.io before the entry deadline. Entries are identified by the email address supplied at submission. Where more than one entry is received from the same email address in a given week, only the most recently submitted entry will be counted and all earlier entries for that week are void. Entries submitted after Sunday's first scheduled kickoff will not be counted. Automated entries, and entries made using multiple email addresses by the same individual, may be disqualified.
Winner determination. The entrant with the highest cumulative point total at the conclusion of the regular season wins. Points are awarded as described in these rules, based on the closing spread published on this site at the time picks were opened and the final official score of each game as reported by the NFL. Where two or more entrants finish with identical totals, the prize will be split equally among them. All decisions of Bet the Swarm LLC regarding scoring, eligibility, and rule interpretation are final and binding.
Prize. Two hundred United States dollars ($200), awarded as a single prize and split equally among co-winners where applicable. The prize has no cash substitute beyond its stated value and is not transferable. Winners are responsible for any applicable taxes.
Winner notification. Winners will be contacted at the email address associated with their entry within fourteen (14) days of the season concluding, and must respond within thirty (30) days to claim the prize. An unclaimed prize may be forfeited and awarded to the next eligible entrant or not awarded at all, at the Sponsor's discretion.
General. Bet the Swarm LLC reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or violates these rules, and to modify, suspend, or cancel the contest if it cannot be run as planned.
